Pete works in automotive control systems development for TRW Automotive and other companies. He has worked extensively in engine management systems, vehicle dynamics, ABS systems and most recently in electrical power assisted steering. In engine management he has made significant improvements optimization of spark timing, EGR control, idle speed control and damping of tip-in oscillations for gasoline and Diesel fuelled vehicles. His most recent work has been in steering systems simulation and control. He has worked in all areas from sensor-less motor control, motor current control and steer-by-wire system control with significant work in testing of dynamic software components. His particular interests are in the application and implementation of robust control systems in embedded micro-controllers.
