Lars Nielsen was born in Sweden in 1955. He
received his M.Sc. in engineering physics in 1979 and his Ph.D.
degree in automatic control in 1985, both from Lund Institute
of Technology.
Since 1992 he is professor of Vehicular Systems
holding the Sten Gustafsson chair at Linköping University.
His main research interests are in automotive
modeling, control, and diagnosis.
