Jean-Pierre Hathout is the novel combustion technology project manager at the Robert Bosch GmbH Corporate Research and Development facility. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Cairo University, Egypt, and Sc.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the USA. His research interests include fundamentals of thermal fluid and combustion systems, and systems dynamics and controls. His doctoral research focused on dynamic instabilities and active control of continuous combustion processes. His current focus at Bosch relates to novel internal combustion engines concepts, and the technology to control these for the next generation Diesel and gasoline powertrains.
